In the Swedish school health services, equality and equivalence in education are fundamental values. But how is this accomplished for the students that meet the school health professionals? This research project studies how the school health services is made equal and equivalent to children having migrated to Sweden. Being available to students in all schools, school nurses and school social workers are in focus. More concretely, in the light of larger discourses of migration, diversity and culture, the aim is to explore the (inter)cultural understanding of school nurses and school social workers and the impact this may have on their interaction with students. The project includes a systematic literature review and an interview study with school nurses and school social workers. Foreseeable outcomes are new scientific knowledge but also recommendations and guidelines.
