Description of the project

Intelligent, integrated sensor systems for diagnosis, treatment and health care. The goal of the research project is to develop personalized and adaptive methods, techniques and tools that improve the users health. Also diagnostic methods and techniques are important in order to adapt and personalize any health improving recommendations and exercises. Measurement tool based methods improving health and reducing stress to levels that are safe in the long term is also an important focus of the project. Adapting exercises to the individuals health situation is known to be more efficient, e.g. for elderly, people involved in sports and people with stress related problems. This adaptation is made manually today by a clinician or professional trainers and can only be offered to a limited group of people.
- With the help of the developed methods and IT tools it is possible to carry out effectively and individually suitable prevention and treatment for people and improve their health situation, independently on what situation they are in. The method and technique developed in the project will be applied and evaluated both in clinical environment and in home environment. The problem demands an interdisciplinary approach and interacts among the technicians, doctors and patients, which is reflected by the participating parties in the project group. Researchers tasks are to develop and evaluate sensor system for the collection of physical data and with the help of artificial intelligence methods and techniques support diagnosis and therapy for stress patient. Further, methods and techniques are developed to give an individually interactive training/exercise program to achieve an efficient treatment with good results. Companies take part in evaluation and refinement of method and technique. This ensures high potential for usefulness and commercialization.
