A research group at HVV carried out a research project (Intensive home rehabilitation -IHR) in collaboration with Eskilstuna Municipality and MKHV, where the research subjects, elderly people (65+), who applied for nursing interventions in the municipal home service received intensive home rehabilitation carried out by an interprofessional team. After the study was completed, there was still a lack of knowledge about why some people do not recover despite receiving IHR. The research project intends, through follow-up, to shed light on the elderly's experiences of an IHR intervention and to describe any obstacles to recovery. Questions include: What experiences of care interventions in the home do the participants describe after the intensive home rehabilitation intervention? What dilemmas emerge in the rehabilitation process? Method: A case-control study through medical record review, protocol with qualitative questions and qualitative analysis.

The project aims to shed light on the elderly's experiences of an IHR intervention through follow-up and to describe any obstacles to recovery.

Project objective

The researchers intend to discuss preliminary results and provide suggestions for possible measures regarding a further improved IHR intervention with the caregivers.
