MFA – multi-factor authentication at MDU

We are continuously working on making our IT services at MDU secure, therefore we will introduce MFA (multi-factor authentication, two-step verification) for all students.

Soon, you will need to use an app called Authenticator on your mobile phone when you log in to Microsoft 365 with your student account. This applies when you want to use services like Outlook or Teams.

This is what we call MFA (multi-factor authentication), and it works in two steps:

1. Enter your username and password as usual.
2. Confirm the login with your app in your mobile phone.

If you need help getting started, or if you change your mobile phone, there’s a guide on the Student Web under Manage student account.

You will also receive an email with the heading "MDU inför MFA – multifaktorautentisering/MFA – multi-factor authentication at MDU" to your student email with instructions.

We will be introducing this gradually during the spring. So, it might be a good idea to download the app today to be prepared.
