MFA – multi-factor authentication at MDU

We are continuously working on making our IT services at MDU secure, which is why we have introduced MFA (multi-factor authentication, two-step verification) for all students.

This means that you need to download an app called Microsoft Authenticator to your mobile phone. You use the app when you log in to Microsoft 365 with your student account. This applies when you want to use services like Outlook or Teams.

This is what we call MFA (multi-factor authentication), and it works in two steps:

  1. Enter your username and password as usual.
  2. Confirm the login with your app in your mobile phone.

If you need help getting started, or if you change your mobile phone, there’s a guide on the Student Web under Manage student account External link..
