English 3, Social and Regional Variation
English is a global language, and is used in different ways around the world. This course looks at the variety in the forms of English that are used in different parts of the world, as well as the way factors such as gender and social class affect the way English is spoken. The implications of English as a global lingua franca are also addressed.
