Objectives
The objective of the course is to provide in-depth knowledge of different forms of project management and how these can be applied in innovation and design projects. Students are further expected to acquire theoretical knowledge of project organisation and the ability to problematise leadership in innovation and design projects.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students are expected to be able to:
1. compare different forms of project management and discuss their strengths and weaknesses from different perspectives
2. identify and argue for forms of project management that are applicable to innovation and design management in various contexts
3. discuss innovation and design projects on the basis of theories about innovation and design management
4. describe and explain models and methods for decision-making within projects
5. problematise leadership in innovation and design projects on the basis of different conceptualisations of organisation.

Specific requirements
A completed Bachelor's degree, equivalent to 140 credits.
Swedish B/Swedish 3 and English A/English 6 are required. For courses given in entirely in English exemption is made from the requirement in Swedish B/Swedish 3.
Examination
Written assignment (INL1), 1,5 credits, (examines the learning objective 3), marks Fail (U), Pass (G) or Pass with Distinction (VG)
Project (PRO1), 4,5 credits, (examines the learning objectives 1, 2, 4 and 5), marks Fail (U), Pass (G) or Pass with Distinction (VG)
Seminar (SEM1), 1,5 credits, (examines the learning objectives 3 and 5), marks Fail (U) or Pass (G)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding a disability has the opportunity to submit a request for supportive measures during written examinations or other forms of examination, in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for Examinations at First-cycle and Second-cycle Level at Mälardalen University (2020/1655). It is the examiner who takes decisions on any supportive measures, based on what kind of certificate is issued, and in that case which measures are to be applied.
Suspicions of attempting to deceive in examinations (cheating) are reported to the Vice-Chancellor, in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, and are examined by the University’s Disciplinary Board. If the Disciplinary Board considers the student to be guilty of a disciplinary offence, the Board will take a decision on disciplinary action, which will be a warning or suspension.
