Syfte
The course intends to give the student basic knowledge of European Community law, the rules regarding Business Contracts in International Markets and Commercial law with focus on Competition law and Intellectual property law.
Lärandemål
After the course the student shall be abel to:
- Identify different major legal systems and the effect on a specific business deal
- Evaluate legal texts and be abel to find relevant text to a specific legal question..
- Find legal text in EC Law that is relevant to a specifik business transaction within EU.
- Apply basic personal tax laws when working in different countries.
- Identify different principles in contract law in different countries and apply this knowledge in a business contract
- Apply basic rules in Competition law
- Apply basic rules regarding Intellectual property law
Innehåll
The course starts with an introduction to different legal systems and basic introduction to European Community law. After the introduction we continue with some IT-law regarding Privacy protection and Criminal law followed by Principals of Commercial contract law. Followed by tax law for individuals and corporations and after that Intellectual property law and Competition law.
Undervisning
The teaching consists of lectures and seminars.
Behörighet
Engelska B (områdesbehörighet 4 med förändring). För den som har betyg från Gy11/Vux12 krävs endast grundläggande behörighet.
Examination
Seminarium, skriftlig och muntlig (SEM1), 7,5 hp, betyg Godkänd (G) eller Väl Godkänd (VG)
Tentamen, skriftlig (TEN2), 7,5 hp, betyg Godkänd (G) eller Väl Godkänd (VG)
En student som har ett intyg från MDU avseende sin funktionsnedsättning har möjlighet att anmäla önskemål om anpassning vid salstentamina eller annan examinationsform i enlighet med Regler och anvisningar för examination på grundnivå och avancerad nivå vid Mälardalens högskola (2020/1655). Det är examinator som, utifrån det intyg som utfärdats, beslutar om eventuell anpassning och i så fall vilken anpassning som ska gälla.
Misstankar om vilseledande vid examination (fusk) anmäls, enligt högskoleförordningen, till universitetets rektor och prövas av universitetets disciplinnämnd. Om disciplinnämnden anser att en student gjort sig skyldig till en disciplinförseelse fattar nämnden beslut om en disciplinär åtgärd, vilket är varning eller avstängning.
