Seminar: Developing Guidance and Policies for Generative AI: A design framework and process
Welcome to the forthcoming event in the AI-in-Education seminar series (AI@MDU). Prof. Benjamin Luke Moorhouse will deliver a webinar followed by a discussion online on Teams on the 23rd of February, 09:15-10:45 (CET).
GenAI has disrupted higher education institutions (HEIs) requiring substantial adaptations to HEI curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Policy, guidance and training are essential in supporting faculty and students adapt to GenAI realities. In this talk, Prof. Benjamin Luke Moorhouse (City University of Hong Kong) will share his experience leading a task force established to develop principles and guidelines on the use of GenAI in teaching, learning, and assessment for the HEI community. He will propose a framework and process that can be adapted to support HEIs develop guidance and policies for GenAI.
About: Prof. Benjamin Luke Moorhouse is an Associate Professor in the Department of English, City University of Hong Kong. He has received several teaching awards, including the President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Individual Teaching from HKBU in 2023. His research focuses on the lived experiences, competencies, and professional learning of language teachers and teacher educators. Currently, he is exploring the impact of GenAI on language teaching and learning. He is a co-editor of the European Journal of Teacher Education (Taylor & Francis).
