New student
Welcome to MDU and congratulations to making a great choice. You will need to put an effort in both preparing for your arrival to Sweden and also during your studies in what probably is a new country for you. But it will be worth it as it makes you grow and sets you up with all the skills you need for your future career.

Starting your studies
There are some things to keep in mind in order to get the best possible start as a student at MDU. Creating a student account, registering for your programme and courses are some of the next steps to take, once we get closer to the start of the semester.
Paying your tuition fee
Pay your first instalment of the tuition fee (if applicable). Please note that no invoice will be sent out by default. Payment details in the next step.
Webinar
Join our webinars especially for you who are a newly admitted international student.
Residence permit
Apply for residence permit (If applicable) through www.migrationsverket.se The sooner you have your documents ready and apply, the better. The time to decision can be 3-4 months.
Welcome session
Kick-start your studies with positive energy from this joint welcome session, where all new students meet. The welcome session will be held outdoors in close association to campus. More information will follow.

Tips for a smoother process
When you have been admitted and if you’re from outside the EU, please make sure to pay your tuition fee to the university as soon as possible. Also apply for residence permit through the Migration Agency with all documents ready. Another advise is to start searching for accommodation while you wait for the residence permit.
