”The course list was exactly what I was looking for!”

Greta Schweitzer from Germany is currently studying the Master’s programme in Environmental Engineering at Mälardalen University (MDU). She first started a programme at another university but switched to MDU after she read the programme description and felt that it was a perfect match.

Student Greta Schweitzer, studying the Master's programme in Environmental Engineering

– The best thing so far is that I feel like I can apply my learned skills from this education in many different areas, Greta says and continues describing:

– I really like that we use different methods – for example phone apps and softwares – to quantify environmental impacts, such as air pollution or eutrophication. It’s a lot more fun to work with real-world data!

Would you recommend others to apply to the Master’s programme in Environmental Engineering at MDU?

– Yes, I definitely would! The programme includes many interesting courses, for example water management, real-time analysis, GIS (geographic information systems) and remote sensing. It also provides some flexibility with some courses to choose.

– I would recommend this programme to anyone that wants to learn more about various topics within environmental engineering. One important aspect is that this is a distance programme. This means that individual work can be done according to one’s own schedule.

What is your dream for the future?

I hope to work with GIS, remote sensing, or LCA (Life-cycle assessment) which is a process for evaluating the effects that a product has on the environment throughout its lifetime. Just because it is a bit more practical than some other areas.
