Shut up and write - a writing group for doctoral students
The University Library has a writing group for doctoral students. The group meet once a week. The aim is to give you the opportunity to meet other doctoral students, and give you a set time each week to focus on your writing.
How it works
The group meet every week in Västerås. If you cannot participate in a session in person, you can join via Teams.
The sessions are laid out as follows:
- all participants talk about their goal for the day
- three writing sessions with a five-minute break between each session
- conclusion where everyone talks about how the writing went and what to work on next.
You can use the session to work on anything you’d like, for example a presentation, an article or your thesis. It’s important that you participate every week to create continuity both in your writing and within the group.
The writing group is led by a librarian. The librarian's job is to create structure and make it easier for you to focus on your writing.
All doctoral students at MDU are welcome to register to join.
When is it?
Mondays, 9.15-11.15.
The first session for the Spring semester is on the 26th of January, and the last on the 1st of June.
