Before taking exams
Of course, you should focus on studying for the exam. Here we have gathered all the other practical things you need to do before each exam. Read the tabs that apply to you and tick them off, then you can spend the rest of your time preparing so that you can pass the exam.
Register for the exam - and withdraw if you are unable to attend
Written examinations are usually booked at one of the campus locations. In cases where a course is offered at several locations, you can only register for one location, which is normally the place of study for the course. You register for the examination in Ladok. An activity (examination) in Ladok becomes visible one month before the examination date, in some cases 21 days before the examination is held.

Registration in Ladok opens 21 days before the exam date and closes 10 days before the date in question. If you have not registered in time, you will have to wait until the next exam date.

If you have problems registering in Ladok, please email The Student Centre before registration closes:
Withdraw if you are unable to attend
It is important that you withdraw if you are unable to take the exam. To avoid costs incurred for security guards, materials and examination rooms, you must cancel no later than the last day of registration, i.e. 10 days before the exam. Please cancel even if the last day of registration has passed, as resources can sometimes be reallocated despite costs already incurred.
Request for aids/adjustments
If you need aids/adjustments when taking a written on-campus exam, you must make the request for each occasion. You do this in Ladok when you register for the exam.
Information on how to make the request can be found in Ladok's informational video (1:48 min).
Request for aids - Ladok External link.
If you need spell check
For the support option ‘Computer with spell check’, there are two alternatives in the drop-down list: Swedish or English. If you have this support option in your Nais notification and want to apply for it for a on-campus written exam, you should only choose one of the alternatives – the language in which your written exam is given.
If you need Legimus for the exam
If you need Legimus for the exam, please contact the coordinator for targeted pedagogical support via rps@mdu.se to have it entered into Ladok.
For digital Inspera exams
If your exam is a digital Inspera exam, special rules apply for computers depending on the location of the exam. The "computer" aid does not refer to ordering a loan computer for digital exams with Inspera https://www.mdu.se/en/malardalen-university/student/practical-things-about-studying/about-examinations/digital-written-examinations-in-inspera-assessment
