MDU bus

As a student at Mälardalen University you have free travel between our two campuses in Eskilstuna and Västerås, Monday to Friday during the academic year. You use your MDU card as your ticket.

Please note that the bus in Eskilstuna departs from Rademachergatan 26.

MDU bus summer timetables

During the summer, the MDU bus operates at the following times:

• Ordinary timetable until 6 June.
• Reduced table June 9–13.
• Summer break June 14 June–17 August.
• Reducerad tabell 18–22 augusti.
• Ordinarie tabell från och med den 25 augusti.

Rules for the MDU bus

To be able to travel on the bus, you must show your personal MDU card to the driver on board the bus. You can order it primarily via the Student Portal.

If you have not received the card before the start of the semester, you can visit Studenttorget and get a temporary ticket. You show the temporary ticket to the driver in combination with photo identification. The temporary travel document is valid for a transitional period of four weeks after the start of the semester.

The MDU card can be ordered after registration via the student portal. It may take up to 2 hours after registration before you can order your MDU card.

External travellers

External travellers cannot buy a ticket and travel on the bus.

Other information

• Out of consideration for people with fragrance sensitivities, please avoid using perfume and other strong scents on the bus.
• It is not allowed to bring pets with you. This does not apply to guide or assistance dogs.
• No traffic on public holidays.
• All buses are equipped with seat belts. Please use them for your safety and the safety of others.
• There is Wi-Fi on board the buses.
• If you forget something on the bus, the driver will hand it in to Studenttorget.
• Due to safety risks, it is not allowed to bring electric bicycles and/or electric scooters on the bus. Regular bicycles that can be folded are permitted.
