Description of the project
In Sweden there is an opportunity to have a very high share of renewable power generation. One challenge with wind and solar is that these power sources have a variable output. In power systems, the balance must be maintained continuously between total production and consumption. Currently this is handled mainly by
hydropower.
One possible resource is however flexible customers. With smart meters and other "smart" technology there is today much greater opportunity for customers to be active and adjust their electricity consumption. The potential for flexibility is due to price fluctuations, customer interest, measurement methods and choice of technical solutions, etc.
