The purpose of the project is to study health promotion intervention for decreasing sedentary lifestyle in persons with breast, prostate or colorectal cancer receiving neo- or adjuvant cancer treatment.

Project objectives

  • understand sedentary behavior as experienced by persons receiving neo- or adjuvant cancer treatment.
  • study the opinions and beliefs of persons receiving neo- or adjuvant cancer treatment on how to support decrease in sedentary behavior and how to replace sedentary time.
  • plan and develop in co-production with representatives from end-users (the target group) a self-management program including persuasive technology to reduce sedentary lifestyle.
  • with single-case design assess feasibility and usability of a self-management program for decreasing sedentary behaviour for persons in the target group.
  • evaluate the effects in an RCT of a self-management intervention program including persuasive technology to decrease sedentary lifestyle for persons in the target group compared to a control group
