In Norway, the data collection also involves older persons’ communication in radiology and optometry practice. In Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands, we have audio recorded about 200 homecare visits per country. The analysis revolves around the emotional cues and concerns expressed by the older persons, and the responses form professionals, and comparisons between countries will be done. We have also surveyed student nurses’ self-reported attitudes to older persons, person-centredness and mindfulness. In the next step, pilot tests of educational interventions in communication has been done in Norway and the Netherlands.
The results are planned to be used in a webbased interactive platform for communication skills training.
