Open Access to publications

Open Access means that scientific publications are made freely available for anyone to read, download, and share.

This can be achieved by publishing in open journals, on open publishing platforms, or through parallel publishing of an approved version in an open repository. The national goal set by the Swedish government is that publicly funded publications should be immediately openly accessible, preferably published with open licenses.

Open Access increases the impact of research, makes results more equally accessible, and enables faster dissemination of knowledge. It also strengthens transparency and validity, which are central to good research practice.

How to do this in your research

Choose open publishing options:

If no open publishing option is available for your research, parallel publishing in the digital scientific archive DiVA can be an alternative:

Publish your research with an open license that specifies how the text may be used:

Start an openly accessible scientific journal on the national platform Publicera:

Publish your research as an openly accessible, peer reviewed book through the platform Kriterium:
