“The whole world is my workplace”

Pontus Netzell studied the Energy Engineering programme and the Master's Programme in Sustainable Energy Systems. Today, he works a maintenance engineer at ABB in Västerås, a job that places great demands on problem solving and broad technical expertise.

– Thanks to my education, I have gained an understanding of systems and how to solve challenges. This is something I use every day in my job, says Pontus Netzell.

At ABB, his job entails being the person who starts up projects and working with operating technology. He works with international assignments and spends the other days at the office in Sweden.

– Next week I am going to Switzerland. Thereafter I will travel to the US and China. The whole world is my workplace which is incredibly exciting, says Pontus Netzell.

He recommends those who are interested in studying engineering to dare to take the step and apply for the programme.

– I have acquired fantastic tools for problem solving. And thanks to my education, it hasn’t been a problem for me to find a job. The jobs have simply come to me, says Pontus Netzell.
