Alma combines her studies with handball

Alma plays handball in VästeråsIrsta HF and studies in the Physiotherapy programme.

I think the Physiotherapy programme is fun to combine with handball.

The best thing about handball is that it is incredibly fun, the sense of community within the team, and of course, I love to win. My goal in handball is to play for a top team somewhere in Europe and be able to make a living from the sport.

What you might not know about me is that I have studied the Physiotherapy programme at two other universities — both at Luleå University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg. I wasn’t able to finish the programme at either place because I moved to play handball for another team on both occasions. My goal now is to complete the final part of the programme here at MDU.

Do you want to combine elite sports and your studies?

During your time at MDU, you, as an elite athlete, have the opportunity to receive support and adjustments to enable you to study and continue with your sport at the same time. This enables you to pursue dual careers and have an university education to fall back on after your career in sports.
