Specific requirements
A completed Bachelor's degree from an institution of higher education of three years or more, equivalent to 180 credits, of which at least 60 credits are within computer engineering and/or computer science including programming corresponding to 15 credits. At least 22,5 credits in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics are required. A TOEFL test result, with a minimum score of 575 with a TWE score of at least 4.5 (PBT) or 90 with a TWE score of at least 20 (iBT) or an IELTS test result with an overall band score of at least 6.5 and no band score below 5.5 or equivalent is required.

The programme
The courses in this programme embrace the latest theory and practice within the areas of embedded systems, artificial intelligence and robotics. To guarantee that you obtain skills requested by the industry, the content is developed together with companies and your teachers are world-leading researchers within the field.
The theoretical parts are interspersed with practical parts that are done in collaboration with companies in the industry, such as ABB, Alstom, Hitachi Energy, Westermo, and Volvo Construction Equipment. The collaboration involves guest lectures, student projects, project courses, mentoring and internships. In addition, you have the opportunity to use corporate equipment from some of our business partners on various courses.
The University has several exchange agreements and some of them also give you the opportunity to obtain a double master's degree.

The market for intelligent embedded systems is enormous and the industry’s need for experts in the area is constantly increasing. On completion of the programme you will be in demand in the national and international labour market. Both as a well-qualified expert in the field at companies and as a doctoral student in higher education.
With this master’s degree you can make a career as an engineer, project manager, system architect, embedded systems programmer or a researcher in the areas of robotics, telecommunications, process control, home electronics and the car and train industry. This master’s degree with a set of courses with cutting-edge knowledge prepares you to take responsibility in the fields of using newly emerged artificial intelligence techniques in developing advanced embedded systems, advanced solutions in robotics and automation industries, as well as car and train manufacturing.
