In this course you will learn how statistics can be used in science and engineering to enhance the thrill of discovery, facilitate the creation of new knowledge, challenge your assumptions, and make good decisions based on data.

About this course

Statistics is vital in every field and in this course, you will learn the role it can play in the field of sustainable development. You will learn certain statistical tools, how to apply them, and ways of thinking about results that will aid you in your studies and future career.

What you will learn

  • You will learn how to explain various specific situations where statistical inference may commonly occur and how to implement and interpret confidence intervals, significance tests and ANOVA.
  • We will also discuss, perform and interpret correlations and simple linear regressions.

Entry requirements

120 credits of which 90 credits engineering and/or natural science and 7.5 credits in mathematics. In addition, English course B/English course 6 is required.
