In the course, we look at enabling technologies for advanced and rapid production from an industrial perspective. The course covers many topics, and you will learn the basic terminology related to discrete and rapid production, connected factories and automation in assembly. You will get an insight and understanding of industrial competitiveness and how it affects industry and individuals.
The course discusses potential benefits and challenges with different possible techniques. Upon completion of the course, you will have a conceptual understanding of key concepts and technologies and how this can be applied in industry.

75 credits in mechanical engineering, production engineering, product and process development, industrial engineering and management or equivalent or 40 credits in engineering/technology and at least 2 years of work experience in full-time from a relevant area within industry. In addition, Swedish course B/Swedish course 3 and English course A/English course 6 are required. For courses given entirely in English exemption is made from the requirement in Swedish course B/Swedish course 3.
