Learn about digital twins and how they can be used in smart production!
About the course
A digital twin is used to create a virtual model of a real production system. Among other things, it can be used to simulate how the product will be manufactured, how materials flow and how machines move.
The course gives you knowledge of industrial digital twins and their application within the framework of smart production. You will gain an insight into the possibilities digital twins offer for improving production systems and processes. You will gain an understanding of when the use of digital twins can be a beneficial solution in the development of production systems.
You will learn
- Describe the use and benefit of digital twins for virtual production
- Understand how develop production processes using digital twins
- How to design and implement production processes which involve digital twins
The course is given with flexible start and study pace, but we recommend a study pace of 20%, which means that the course takes about 8 calendar weeks. You can join the course until the end of October.

Application information
You’ll find the entry requirements in the course description. After submitting your application, the next step is to submit documentation to demonstrate your eligibility for the course. Most academic credentials from Sweden are retrieved automatically. If you have studied in another country, you must provide transcripts of your academic studies and of your English proficiency. Exactly what you need to submit and how, depends on several factors. You can read more on universityadmissions.se or antagning.se.
If the course requires work experience, you need to provide an employer’s certificate. You can download a template for employer’s certificate below.
No academic qualifications?
Many courses requires that you have previous academies studies, but we can validate work experience to determine whether you have the qualifications for the course.
If you don’t have the formal qualifications required, please send in a certificate of employment (current or previous) and a CV/Description of competence that describes your educational and professional background. Please include a short description of your work experience, not only the work title.
