Objectives
The purpose of the course is to extend and deepen students' knowledge, skills and understanding within the area of computer science. The course work will be performed on advanced level, with a significant theoretical and practical depth.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course the students will be able to:
- analyze complex problems within computer science
- specify requirements for complex systems
- describe which advance methods and skills are necessary to solve the problem
- apply advances methods, processes and standards within chosen project area
- find related problems and solutions and propose own solutions
- present the solution both in a technical report document and orally at a seminar
The course will also prepare students to perform a master thesis work on an advanced level.
Course content
The course will cover different areas within computer science and the course content can vary between course instances. The project course is organized together with the teacher and the students, giving a possibility for students to deepen their knowledge in a specific area which is relevant for their education.
Specific requirements
At least 150 credits from an institution of higher education. In addition Swedish course 3 or Swedish level 3 and English course 6 or English level 2 are required. For courses given entirely in English exemption is made from the requirement in Swedish course 3 or Swedish level 3.
Examination
Seminar (SEM1), 7.5 credits, marks Pass (G)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
