Objectives
The objective of this course is to enable students to develop knowledge and skills in relation to principles of functional safety, risk analysis and risk assessment of Battery Management Systems.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student shall be able to:
- Describe principles of Battery Management Systems, Functional Safety as well as of other aspects of safety such as Fire Safety
- Identify risks in relation to Battery Management Systems
- Analyse risks in relation to Battery Management Systems
- Assess risks in relation to Battery Management Systems
Course content
The course contains 2 modules:
- Introduction to Battery Management Systems, functional safety of Battery Management Systems and principles of functional safety and other safety aspects such as e.g. fire safety
- Risk identification, analysis and assessment related to Battery Management Systems
Specific requirements
120 credits of which at least 7,5 credits in software engineering and 7,5 credits in safety-critical systems engineering or 60 credits in engineering/technology and at least 2 years of full-time professional experience from a relevant area within industry. In addition Swedish course 3 or Swedish level 3 and English course 6 or English level 2 are required. For courses given entirely in English exemption is made from the requirement in Swedish course 3 or Swedish level 3.
Examination
Project (PRO), Project report 2,5 credits, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
