Objectives
The students shall independently or in groups apply and deepen their knowledge within product and process development, investigate current developments and treat advanced problems and be able to search for new knowledge to solve advanced tasks as management and follow up of projects and/or advanced problem solving.
Learning outcomes
The student must in a technical and scientific manner;
- take active part in a project work initiated by commercial or scientific reasons
- show deep understanding of current research and development with focus on tools and processes within efficient product and process development that are sustainable in a life cycle perspective
- show ability to take full responsibility to manage projects within product and process development for example as project manager or in solving an advanced design task
- draw the relevant conclusions and recommendations based on the analysis of the results
- orally and in writing present the working process and the results and defend them
Course content
Problems are taken from current projects within Center for Product Realization.
Specific requirements
Students on program within the subject Product and Process Development with at least 180 ECTS credits, whereof at least 30 ECTS credits at advanced level in the subject. Application to the course is made in competition, selection of students is made based on the resource need in each project. English course A and Swedish course B.
Examination
Exercise (INL1), 1.5 credits, marks 3, 4 or 5
Project (PRO1), 6 credits, marks 3, 4 or 5
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
