Objectives
This course is designed to enhance students' market-based analytical skills through a combination of discussions, literature reviews, and engaging business simulations. The course aims to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in applying marketing concepts. The goal of the business simulation is for students to develop the analytical skills necessary to understand and anticipate market dynamics, as well as to deepen their ability to formulate market strategies with both short- and long-term focus.

Course content
To achieve the learning objectives, this course utilizes an immersive business simulation game. This simulation serves as a foundation for making strategic market-based decisions, incorporating diverse perspectives on market conditions and the roles of various actors. Through a combination of lectures and discussions, students will explore the daily decision-making processes of company managers. The business simulation provides a practical platform for students to apply and refine their knowledge and skills, fostering the development of new insights and competencies.
Specific requirements
60 credits in Business Administration with progression, of which 15 credits at G1F level. Additionally, English 6 or English level 2 is required.

Seminar (SEM1), Seminars and group work, 7,5 hp, grade Excellent (A), Very good (B), Good (C), Satisfactory (D), Sufficient (E), Insufficient (F). The assignment focuses on a business simulation with your peers as a foundation for discussions and presentations. Relates to learning outcomes 1, 3, 4, 5
Examination (HEM1), individual take-home examination, 7,5 hp, grade Excellent (A), Very good (B), Good (C), Satisfactory (D), Sufficient (E), Insufficient (F). The assignment focuses on providing a solution to a given scenario through an independent analysis. Relates to learning outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
