Objectives
The purpose of the course is to provide insights into digital technologies for industrial visualization, and their application in various real-world domains in the context of Industry 4.0. Specifically, the course will provide students an understanding of when industrial visualization using technologies such as digital twins, extended reality, or artificial intelligence may be a good solution in the development of production systems. Students will also acquire the knowledge to design production processes that implement digital technologies for industrial visualization.
Learning outcomes
After finishing this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe in detail digital technologies for industrial visualization such as digital twins, extended reality, and artificial intelligence
- Show understanding for how to develop production systems that include digital technologies for industrial visualization
- Describe how to design and implement production processes which include industrial visualization
- Show the ability to plan and write a report in a group and to orally present the content of the report
Course content
The course contains industrial visualization technologies such as digital twins, extended reality and artificial intelligence.
Specific requirements
Completed courses of at least 15 credits in advanced level product and process development and 3 credits from the course Industrial Internet of Things for Manufacturing Industry, or similar.
