Objectives
The course will give the student knowledge in the design of simple analogue and digital electronic systems.
Learning outcomes
After completing this course the student:
- will be able to design simple analogue and digital electronic systems
- will have a good understanding of the use of operational amplifier
- will have a good understanding of voltage conversions (DC-DC and AC-DC)
- will have a good understanding of circuit design
- will be able to carry out a project from an engineering perspective, from specification to a real prototype
Course content
The course contains the following: Diodes, pn - transition, AC-DC and DC-DC conversion, instrumentation amplifier, precision rectifier, Schmitt-trigger, Oscillator, multiplexer, synchronous and asynchronous state machines, EMC, PCB - design
Specific requirements
Basics in electronics 7,5 ECTS redits or corresponding.
Examination
Laboratory work (LAB1), 1,5 credits, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G) (examines learning outcome 2)
Laboratory work (LAB2), 1,5 credits, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G) (examines learning outcome 3)
Laboratory work (LAB3), 1,5 credits, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G) (examines learning outcome 4)
Project (PRO1), 3 credits, marks Fail (U), 3, 4 or 5 (examines learning outcomes 1, 4 and 5)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
