Objectives
The aim of the course is to give the participants the opportunity to acquire insights into interactional dynamics in connection with pedagogical activities in English language classrooms. Teacher Language Awareness, Classroom Interactional Competence, as well as reflection and feedback on classroom practices, form the knowledge base that will be developed in this course, with a focus on enhanced motivation and commitment in the classroom.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the students should be able to:
- identify, analyze and evaluate teachers' and students' interactional practices in different classroom contexts.
- successfully engage in critical self-reflection and peer-response practices.
- use digital technologies for continuous professional development.

Examination
SEM2, Seminar, 1 credit, active participation in all scheduled activities concerning learning outcomes 1-3, grades Fail (U) or Pass (G).
INL1, Assignment, 2 credits, reflective written assignments concerning learning outcomes 1-3, grades Fail (U), Pass (G) or Pass with distinction (VG).
FSR1, Field study report, 2 credits, field study report concerning learning outcomes 1-3, grades Fail (U), Pass (G) or Pass with distinction (VG).
For Pass with distinction (VG) on the course as a whole, the student must have earned that grade for INL1 and FSR1.
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
