The course introduces mechanical vibrations.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
- understand basic principles and connections in mechanical vibrations
- create simple models from engineering dynamic problems
- solving equations of motions
Course content
Fundamentals of vibration
Free vibration
Harmoniously excited vibration
Two-Degree-of-Freedom Systems
Tools for modeling and simulation of vibratory systems
Specific requirements
90 credits including 15 credits of mechanics, statics and forces, 7,5 credits vector algebra, 7.5 credits calculus and 7.5 credits programming, or equivalent courses.
Examination
Examinatoin (TEN1), written examination, 5 credits, examines learning outcomes 1-3, marks Fail (U), 3, 4 or 5
Laboratory Work (LAB1), 2.5 credits, examines learning outcomes 1-3, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
