Objectives
The aim of the course is to obtain knowledge and skills in 3D-modelling, in connection with manufacturing and technical drawings. Preparation for manufacturing in the form of 3D models and 2D-drawings, presented digitally and on paper. Producing physical models with the aid of 3d models and Rapid Prototyping machines.
Learning outcomes
After completed course the student should be able to
- apply a modern Cad software to individually create solid models, assemblies and technical drawings
- describe the foundations in technical drawings
- applying rules and standards to individually produce technical drawings, in the area of machine design
- apply Rapid Prototyping for producing physical models
Course content
Cad software for creating solid models, assemblies and technical drawings.
Rules and standards for creating technical drawings.
Rapid Prototyping for the manufacture of physical models.

Basic eligibility and Physics 2, Chemistry 1, Mathematics 4 or Mathematics E
Examination
Assignment (INL1), 2.5 credits, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G) (examines learning otucomes 1-3)
Assignment (INL2), 2 credits, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G) (examines learning otucomes 4)
Examination (TEN1), 3 credits, marks U, 3, 4 or 5 (examines learning otucomes 1-3)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
