Objectives
The purpose of the course is to increase the student's ability to operate, manage and implement industrial projects and achieve the desired goals. In addition, issues of leadership and organization, as well as processes and continuous improvements will be reviewed, with the aim of increasing the students ability to effectively deliver the expected results from the project. The course is of interest to you who want to develop your skills in industrial project management, where all project phases will be considered; Establish, Implement and Exit Projects
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student should be able to:
- describe project models and different tools and methods that can be applied
- describe and analyzing how different activities and decisions affect the possibility to realize the desired project goals
- describe how quality development including leadership affects the project implementation
- carry out and relate a practical work to theories of industrial project management
- individually and in a group perform and present project and seminar assignments, both orally and in writing and to critically and constructively provide feedback on such presentations
Course content
The course provides knowledge of industrial project management, where leadership, communication, planning, methodology / methods and tools are important components to efficiently manage and control a project and achieve the desired goals.
Specific requirements
60 credits of completed courses in Product and Process Development of which 7,5 credits at advanced level. In addition, Swedish course 3 or Swedish level 3 and English course 6 or English level 2 are required. For courses given entirely in English exemption is made from the requirement in Swedish course 3 or Swedish level 3.
Examination
Seminar (SEM1), Literature seminars that are presented through active participation during seminar and written reflection, 2,5 credits, examines learning outcomes 1-3, 5, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G)
Project (PRO1), A task that is presented with report and demonstration of the project, 2,5 credits, examines learning outcomes 1-5, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G)
Written Assignment (INL1), 2,5 hp, examines learning outcomes 1-3 and 5, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
