Objectives
The course aims to give basic knowledge about planned communication where the theories and methods applies in the design process.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should be able to:
- know basic concepts in the planned communication
- use and explain the planned communication in the design process
- identify needs of different stakeholders in a process of communication
- discuss opportunities and problems with different communication channels
- present to the group process and results of a design process
- have basic knowledge in the scientific approach and academic writing
Course content
The course includes theory and practical exercises as well as introduction to various tools used in a communication process.
- Communication models
- Operators in the information and communication field
- Planned communication
- Torque dealing with oral and written presentation
- Ethical considerations in a communication process
- Report writing
- A project is carried out where the parts of the course are interwoven with elements of collaboration, equality and sustainability.
Examination
Group assignment (GRU 1), 6 credits, examines the learning objectives 1-6, marks Fail (U), Pass (G) or Pass with Distinction (VG)
Examination (TEN1), written examination, 1,5 credits, examines the learning objectives 1-2, marks Fail (U), Pass (G) or Pass with Distinction (VG)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
