Objectives
The aim of the course is for students to acquire further advanced knowledge in illustrating, analyzing, conceptualizing and also accounting for a study in caring science. Students will also develop their capacity to exchange information at a scientific level.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course students will be able to independently :
- identify and formulate a problem area in caring sciences
- problematize a research area
- identify and resolve research ethical problems
- operationalize and design a research project
- write a report on the project and defend it orally
- offer evaluation of and arguments for various scientific perspectives

Examination
UPS1, Thesis, 15 credits, individual written work, written and oral opposition and an oral response regarding learning objectives one to six. Marks Pass (G) or Pass with distinction (VG).
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
