Objectives
Kursen syftar till att deltagaren utvecklar sin förståelse för tillgänglighetsfrågor i undervisning.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the participant shall demonstrate the ability to:
1. independently and jointly with others, plan, implement and evaluate teaching and assessment in higher education from an accessibility perspective,
2. problematise and dicuss rules and regulations regarding students with disabilities and of available student support,
3. reflect on their professional approach to academic teaching and their relationship with the students from an accessibility perspective.
Course content
- Difficulties and possiblities for accessibility in encounters between the student and the higher education
- Theoretical, didactical, and pedagogical perspectives on complex learning situations and encounters
Specific requirements
A teaching position at Mälardalen University.
Examination
PRO1, project report, 1.5 credits, workshops concerning learning outcomes 1-3, grade Fail (U) or Pass (G).
SEM1, seminar, 1 credits, seminars concerning learning outcomes 1-3, grade Fail (U) or Pass (G).
For Pass (G) on the course as a whole, the student must have earned that grade for PRO1 and SEM1.
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding a disability has the opportunity to submit a request for supportive measures during written examinations or other forms of examination, in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for Examinations at First-cycle and Second-cycle Level at Mälardalen University (2020/1655). It is the examiner who takes decisions on any supportive measures, based on what kind of certificate is issued, and in that case which measures are to be applied.
Suspicions of attempting to deceive in examinations (cheating) are reported to the Vice-Chancellor, in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, and are examined by the University’s Disciplinary Board. If the Disciplinary Board considers the student to be guilty of a disciplinary offence, the Board will take a decision on disciplinary action, which will be a warning or suspension.

Course participant admitted to this course who has passed PRO1 or SEM1 in PEA917 can transfer those credits to PRO1 and SEM1 respectively in this course.
The learning outcomes in this course overlap the learning outcomes in PEA917.
