Objectives
Individually or in groups, students are to apply their acquired knowledge of product and process development and search for new knowledge in order to independently solve a problem.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student shall be able to:
- take an active part in a commercial or research-initiated project work
- analyze and apply processes and tools for product and process development in order to solve a project assignment
- draw conclusions and give recommendations for further work on the basis of the results obtained
- document and argue in writing, for the process/product and result
- orally present and argue for the result
Course content
The problem that is to function as the basis for the project is to be found within the public sector, from the business community or internally at Mälardalen University
Specific requirements
90 credits, of which 30 credits must be in product and process development. Of these, 15 credits must be at level G1F in product and process development.
Examination
Assignment (INL1), 1.5 credits, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G), examines learning outcome 1
Project (PRO1), the project is to be presented in a technical report and through an oral presentation at a seminar, 6 credits, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G), examines learning outcomes 2-5
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
