The student will also get an understanding of how principles and guidelines in the subject information design can be applied practically.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student shall be able to:
1. identify and discuss modalities in an information situation
2. discuss and evaluate different modalities in a design based on an Information Design perspective
3. identify and use methods for designing information design focusing on users and user situations
4. have the ability to account for relevant theories in relation to an information design project
5. describe and motivate the design process
6. describe and implement user test
7. identify, discuss and evaluate the parts of an information design process from an overall perspective
Course content
The course presents various methods and tools in information design that the student may discuss and reflect on. Students will be able to work with problem solving and idea generation about the formulation of information. In addition, there are moments of communicating and presenting in the various parts of the design process.
Tuition
The teaching is mainly conducted in a project form where the student participates in a group that has the task of designing information. The project work is combined with lectures and supervision. Group reports and written submission are used for examination.

It is the examiner who takes decisions on any supportive measures, based on what kind of certificate is issued, and in that case which measures are to be applied.
Suspicions of attempting to deceive in examinations (cheating) are reported to the Vice-Chancellor, in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, and are examined by the University’s Disciplinary Board. If the Disciplinary Board considers the student to be guilty of a disciplinary offence, the Board will take a decision on disciplinary action, which will be a warning or suspension.
