Objectives
The aim of the course is to help you as a student to develop knowledge and skills regarding concepts, methods and techniques used in traditional and agile project management as well as for various forms of innovative development projects.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student shall be able to:
1. describe and discuss differences between traditional and Agile project management in an industrial environment
2. plan innovative development projects based on relevant project tools
3. apply knowledge in project management, conflict and risk management
4. analyze and manage complex situations in project environments
Course content
Project goals and strategy. Methods and tools for project management, innovative development projects and lean-agile in an industrial environment, uncertainty analysis and quality planning. Leadership. Project economics and project management.
Tuition
The teaching consists of lectures with accompanying seminars and supervision. Independent studies and project work.
Specific requirements
University studies from technical education of at least 120 credits and at least 12 months of documented professional experience from industrial or university studies of at least 60 credits and at least 24 months of documented professional experience from industry.
Examination
Project (PRO1), An assignment that is presented with a report and a presentation of the project, 3,5 credits, examines the learning objectives 2-4, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G)
Seminar (SEM1), Seminarserie that exercises continuosly is presented according to instructions, 1,5 credits, examines the learning objectives 1-3, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding a disability has the opportunity to submit a request for supportive measures during written examinations or other forms of examination, in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for Examinations at First-cycle and Second-cycle Level at Mälardalen University (2020/1655). It is the examiner who takes decisions on any supportive measures, based on what kind of certificate is issued, and in that case which measures are to be applied.
Suspicions of attempting to deceive in examinations (cheating) are reported to the Vice-Chancellor, in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, and are examined by the University’s Disciplinary Board. If the Disciplinary Board considers the student to be guilty of a disciplinary offence, the Board will take a decision on disciplinary action, which will be a warning or suspension.
