Course literature is preliminary up to 8 weeks before course start. Course literature can be valid over several semesters.
Objectives
The purpose of the course is to extend and deepen students’ knowledge, understanding, and skills, within the area of electronics. The work will be performed on an advanced level, with significant theoretical and practical depth.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student shall be able to:
1. analyze complex problems within electronics
2. specify requirements for complex systems
3. describe which advanced methods and skills are necessary to solve the problem
4. apply advanced methods, processes and standards within chosen project area
5. find related problems and solutions and propose own solutions
6. present the solution both in a technical report document and orally at a seminar
Course content
The course will cover different areas within electronics and the course content can vary between course instances. The course is in the form of a project which is shaped together with the teacher, giving the student the possibility to go into depth within a specific area.
Tuition
Lectures, seminars, and individual supervised project work.
Specific requirements
Finished courses of at least 150 credits which includes at least 30 credits in electronics.
Examination
Seminar (SEM1), 30 credits, examines the learning objectives 1-6, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G).
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding a disability has the opportunity to submit a request for supportive measures during written examinations or other forms of examination, in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for Examinations at First-cycle and Second-cycle Level at Mälardalen University (2020/1655). It is the examiner who takes decisions on any supportive measures, based on what kind of certificate is issued, and in that case which measures are to be applied.
Suspicions of attempting to deceive in examinations (cheating) are reported to the Vice-Chancellor, in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, and are examined by the University’s Disciplinary Board. If the Disciplinary Board considers the student to be guilty of a disciplinary offence, the Board will take a decision on disciplinary action, which will be a warning or suspension.
