Objectives
This course will provide advanced knowledge in one or more flight technical knowledge. It must develop the ability to formulate problems and to work independently. This course will develop the ability to recognize their work and achievements in speech and writing.
Learning outcomes
After the course, students should be able to:
- within the limits of their knowledge independently to formulate and treat problems in the aviation technology
- obtaining information and knowledge through literature studies, interviews and literature searches on the Internet
- a written report on the results obtained in the form of a report
- oral report their results
Course content
The greater part of the course shall be an independent project, which can be performed individually or in small groups. One or more supervisors shall be appointed for the job. Work formulated as a specific project in consultation between students and tutors. The work should be shown both written in the form of a report and in an oral presentation in the form of seminars. In addition to the independent work project may include further literary studies and participating in seminars in the field of study.
Tuition
Compulsory participation in education and phases within the project area may occur. Consultation and supervision.
Specific requirements
At least 60 credits of which at least 22,5 is within the area of Aeronautical Engineering.

Project (PRO1), 5,5 credits, marks 3, 4 or 5
Seminar (SEM1), 2 credits, marks Pass (G)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding a disability has the opportunity to submit a request for supportive measures during written examinations or other forms of examination, in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for Examinations at First-cycle and Second-cycle Level at Mälardalen University (2020/1655). It is the examiner who takes decisions on any supportive measures, based on what kind of certificate is issued, and in that case which measures are to be applied.
Suspicions of attempting to deceive in examinations (cheating) are reported to the Vice-Chancellor, in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, and are examined by the University’s Disciplinary Board. If the Disciplinary Board considers the student to be guilty of a disciplinary offence, the Board will take a decision on disciplinary action, which will be a warning or suspension.
