Objectives
The course builds on previously acquired knowledge of English linguistics and literature studies and is intended to increase and intensify this knowledge in a number of specific areas, with special reference to didactic-pedagogical implications and areas of application.
Within the field of linguistics, the course provides an overview of social and regional variation, with a focus on the English language; when it comes to literature studies, the objective is improved skills in literary analysis and criticism, especially regarding 19th- and 20th-century English-language literature, as well as an introduction to ecocriticism as a field of research. Another objective of the course is continued training in academic writing.
