Objectives
Continuation of voice development in a relaxed and enjoyable way by singing in a choir and with no entry qualifications.
Learning outcomes
After fulfilled course the student is expected to be able to:
-understand the basics of notereading and rhytm.
-read notes on a basic level.
-have an understanding of the sung tone, and use the breathing so that the own voice is developed in a positive direction.
-pronounce with an clear understanding of the litterate content and the shape of the phrase.
-without problem keep the own part in part-singing consisting of 2-3 voices.
-work vocally in a group.
Course content
Singing and speech training.
Breathing exercises.
Voice theory.
Posture.
Theory of music.
Interpretation.
Practical preparation(through concerts).
Choral exercises.
Tuition
Tuition in large and small groups. Singing technique and voice preservation tuition mainly in groups.
Specific requirements
Singing and Choral-practice III, 7,5 credits or equivalent.
Examination
Exercise (INL1), 1.5 credits, marks Pass (G)
Seminar (SEM1), 6 credits, marks Pass (G)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding a disability has the opportunity to submit a request for supportive measures during written examinations or other forms of examination, in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for Examinations at First-cycle and Second-cycle Level at Mälardalen University (2020/1655). It is the examiner who takes decisions on any supportive measures, based on what kind of certificate is issued, and in that case which measures are to be applied.
Suspicions of attempting to deceive in examinations (cheating) are reported to the Vice-Chancellor, in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, and are examined by the University’s Disciplinary Board. If the Disciplinary Board considers the student to be guilty of a disciplinary offence, the Board will take a decision on disciplinary action, which will be a warning or suspension.
