Objectives
The students shall independently or in groups of two apply and deepen their knowledge, investigate current developments and treat innovative production problems in a technical and scientific manner.
Learning outcomes
The student must;
- Demonstrate your ability of being able to conduct (carry on) relatively advanced research in the field of Innovative production.
- Specify, define, and describe a practical/theoretical research problem topic.
- Link the research topic to the relevant advanced theory and solution methods.
- Obtain the desired results from your study.
- Draw the relevant conclusions and recommendations based on the analysis of your results.
- Present your written thesis work and defend it.
Course content
Problems are taken from research either within the university or from industry and society.
The problem selected shall be related to a course or subject studied at an advanced level.
Tuition
Tutorials from appointed tutor or examiner, driven periodically by the student.
Examination
Project (PRO1), The work shall be summarized in a technical report and presented orally in seminars at the university and at the company responsible for assigning the problem, 30 credits, marks Pass (G)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding a disability has the opportunity to submit a request for supportive measures during written examinations or other forms of examination, in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for Examinations at First-cycle and Second-cycle Level at Mälardalen University (2020/1655). It is the examiner who takes decisions on any supportive measures, based on what kind of certificate is issued, and in that case which measures are to be applied.
Suspicions of attempting to deceive in examinations (cheating) are reported to the Vice-Chancellor, in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, and are examined by the University’s Disciplinary Board. If the Disciplinary Board considers the student to be guilty of a disciplinary offence, the Board will take a decision on disciplinary action, which will be a warning or suspension.
