Objectives
In this course your task is to create your own knowledge on how to view the phenomena Innovation leadership.
Learning outcomes
Now is the time for you to adopt this knowledge in forming your own idea of how an organization can med managed to strengthen its' innovative capability.
After completion of the course you should have reached the following learning objectives:
- understanding of a chaos theoretical model for managing the innovative capability of organizations
- understanding of communicative leadership and other perspectives on leadership viewed that will give you a personal foundation for defining your own leadership
- understanding of organizational factors that optimizes business value
- ability to describe an organization and its predispositions for innovativeness
- ability to describe how you would manage that organization in the case you where its' leader
- ability to describe what affects your leadership will have on that organizations' innovative capability
Course content
The course provides you with different perspectives on innovation management and innovations leadership, that will help you deploy your own idea how to lead an organization and strengthen its' innovative capability.
Tuition
The tuition is carried out through lectures, assigned tasks, seminars and presentations. Great emphasis is put on information handling and independent group learning.
Examination
Exercise (INL1), 8 credits, marks Pass (G) or Pass with distinction (VG)
Exercise (INL3), 4 credits, marks Pass (G) or Pass with distinction (VG)
Seminar (SEM2), 3 credits, marks Pass (G)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding a disability has the opportunity to submit a request for supportive measures during written examinations or other forms of examination, in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for Examinations at First-cycle and Second-cycle Level at Mälardalen University (2020/1655). It is the examiner who takes decisions on any supportive measures, based on what kind of certificate is issued, and in that case which measures are to be applied.
Suspicions of attempting to deceive in examinations (cheating) are reported to the Vice-Chancellor, in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, and are examined by the University’s Disciplinary Board. If the Disciplinary Board considers the student to be guilty of a disciplinary offence, the Board will take a decision on disciplinary action, which will be a warning or suspension.
