Objectives
The purpose of this course is to make the students initiated in current research within the area Innovation and product realization but also in the wider context where this research develops and to which it relates. Furthermore possible and conceivable trends for the research area, both at short sight and at a long-term perspective, will be elucidated.

Learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding:
-give an account of the basis and characteristics of the different research profiles within the research area and how these are amalgamated in the area´s interdisciplinary practice
-be able to elucidate the concepts of collaboration and co-production with support from current research projects within Innovation and product realization
Skills and ability:
-with support from some guidance develop and write a draft at the prospect of a possible application for a research grant
Values and attitude:
-be able to discuss and problematize the relevance and importance of the research area in relation to society and industry both in national and international context
Course content
Representatives for the different research teams within the area will present the activities and the aims for their performance at lectures and seminars. The students are assumed to keep up with the activities in the research teams and gradually deepen the study of one chosen research project within the area Innovation and product realization. Through dialogue with the extern partners of the research area there will be possibilities to get a deeper insight in the importance of collaboration and co-production.
Tuition
Seminars, educational visits and some supervision in connection to the independent tasks.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Product and Process Development, Information Design, Innovation or equivalent and Sv B and En A.
Examination
Exercise (INL1), 3 credits, marks Pass (G)

A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding a disability has the opportunity to submit a request for supportive measures during written examinations or other forms of examination, in accordance with the Rules and Regulations for Examinations at First-cycle and Second-cycle Level at Mälardalen University (2020/1655). It is the examiner who takes decisions on any supportive measures, based on what kind of certificate is issued, and in that case which measures are to be applied.
Suspicions of attempting to deceive in examinations (cheating) are reported to the Vice-Chancellor, in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance, and are examined by the University’s Disciplinary Board. If the Disciplinary Board considers the student to be guilty of a disciplinary offence, the Board will take a decision on disciplinary action, which will be a warning or suspension.
