Objectives
The course aims to develop basic theoretical and practical knowledge about different parts of an innovation process and how that type of process can be managed. The course introduces the topic of innovation technology into an organizational and social context.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student should be able to:
1. describe, explain and apply basic concepts and theories in innovation technology;
2. explain and give examples of the connection between the development of knowledge and the ability of organizations and society to create innovations;
3. describe and explain the basics of scientific knowledge building and scientific reporting;
Course content
The course provides knowledge about innovation processes and deals with basic theoretical concepts and theories. Through lectures, developing questions and seminars, knowledge is gained about how organizations (public as well as private) can work with innovation and innovation processes.

Examination
Seminar (SEM1), 4.5 credits, Individual examination. Conduct individual submissions of scientific text and actively participate in compulsory seminars, examnes learning outcomes 1-3, marks Fail (U) or Pass (G)
A student who has a certificate from MDU regarding disability study support, can request adaptions for the examination. It is the examiner who takes decisions on any adaptions, based on the certificate and other conditions.
