Taking Innovation Work to the Next Level

Healthcare requires new innovations and approaches to meet the needs of future care. This project aims to enhance collaboration between the healthcare and care sectors, academia, and the business community, leveraging collective innovation capacity and expertise. In this way, we can develop future products and services that address the identified needs.

This is what we shall do

New methods are needed to make innovations more accessible in healthcare, and collaboration is key. The Center for Welfare Change, together with Region Västmanland, will develop the role of the innovation coach and plan and implement activities aimed at enhancing innovation, such as those targeting high school students and university students. In working with innovation coaches, the Center will provide support in training and education based on previous research in innovation leadership within both the private and public sectors.

Goals

  • By empowering healthcare staff as innovation coaches, the aim is to enhance their ability to identify needs that can lead to time and resource-saving solutions.
  • Strengthening support structures and collaborations across organizational boundaries helps increase competence and capacity for more effective interactions between the healthcare and care sectors, academia, and the business community.
  • With annual innovation-enhancing activities, the hope is to foster engagement and interest in Life Science Welfare and health among youth and students—future employees and entrepreneurs in this sector.

That’s why we want to work to expand collaborations

There are many proposals and ideas from employees, researchers, residents, and businesses for improvements within healthcare. The challenge today is the lack of effective collaboration between different expert competencies, along with the absence of common working methods to manage the innovations that could benefit healthcare.
