Call for application - Hitachi Sustainable Energy Scholarship

We are pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Hitachi Sustainable Energy Scholarship, aimed at supporting MDU- students who demonstrate outstanding potential and commitment in the field of Engineering Science. All applications must be submitted by 30th of October, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

• Students must attend a bachelor or master program within Engineering Science at MDU and have a minimum of 60 credits within the field of studies
• Demonstrated strong academic results and the ability to continue high- level university studies
• Show a genuine interest in sustainability. Attending a program within this field is desirable

What the Scholarship Offers

• A grant of 20.000 SEK
• A 6–8-week summer internship at Hitachi Energy, during the summer following the award
• A 6- month project- based position at Hitachi Energy Sweden upon successful completion of studies to be undertaken no later than three years after the award is granted

Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be evaluated on:

• Academic performance – strong results in relevant energy courses.
• Plans for further study – clarity and focus of future academic path.
• Future career ambitions – relevance to the energy field and Hitachi’s areas.
• Reasons for the scholarship – motivation and expected impact of the award.

A minimum level of achievement in each category is required.

• Why you are applying for this scholarship and how it will support your goals.
