Great interest from foreign students in MDU's degree programmes

A large increase in the number of applicants in the international application rounds, especially for the second-cycle programmes. More application fee paying applicants and also more applicants who have paid their application fee. At the second-cycle level, the number of first-choice applicants has increased compared to last year, by up to 253 percent. This is shown by the latest application statistics.
This year, there are more applicants for all English taught programmes in the international application rounds. For the second-cycle programmes, i.e. the Master's programmes, the increase is 82 per cent in the total number of applicants and 133 per cent in the number of first-choice applicants. This is when compared with the same programmes in 2024.
The Master's programmes have 88 per cent more applicants who are liable to pay the application fee and more who have paid the application fee, 74 per cent more compared to last year. Payment of the application fee is a prerequisite for the application to be assessed, in cases where applicants are obliged to pay an application fee.
The two programmes that show the largest increase are the Master's programme in Intelligent Embedded Systems with 253 per cent more first-choice applicants, and the Master's programme in Global Strategy and Management with 216 per cent more first-choice applicants.
The number of applicants at the first- cycle, i.e. undergraduate level has also increased. The single largest increase is accounted for by Analytical Finance, with 43 per cent more first-choice applicants this year, and 49 per cent more applicants totally. The total number of applicants for all undergraduate programmes has increased by 28 per cent compared to last year.
In addition to being anchored in MDU's vision, the Master's programme in Global Strategy and Management is aligned with research in sustainability, digitalisation, and globalisation. In addition, it contains a large amount of collaboration, especially regionally.
